KUCHING, June 6: 23 judges were appointed today during the Syarie Judge Appoinment Ceremony for the Sarawak Syariah Justice Department (JKSS).
The ceremony was graced by Sarawak Governor, Tuan Yang Terutama, Yang Dipertua Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at the main room of Astana Negeri Sarawak.
Yang Amat Arif Datu Awang Suhaili Ledi has been reappointed as Chief Syariah Judge cum the Chairman of Syariah Court of Appeal.
Five were appointed as Syariah Court Judge Panels consists of Yang Amat Arif Dato Mohd Amran Mat Zain, Yang Arif Adto Mohd Shukor Sabudin, Yang Arif Datuk Mohd Radzi Abd Latif, Yang Arif Dato’ Mohamad Shakir Abdul Hamid and Yang Arif Dr. Sarip Adul.
Afterwards, Junaidi presented two letter of appointments for Syariah High Court Judge to Yang Arif Tuan Rosidi Masli and Yang Arif Najarudin Nedri.
15 more were appointed as judges for the Syariah Lower Court including Awang Indra Awang Mostapha, Ilham Mustapa, Wahabi Isenan, Idris Abdul Kadir, Imran Taha, Suhardi Bujang, Noor Rafidah Ali and Norsilawati Jamari.
Nur Azhar Abdullah, Mirwan Yunus, Norhafizie Kamil, Mohammad Hami Hamizul Saimi, Athirah Morni, Sharifah Farah Aminah Wan Mohamad Su’ut and Nur Syuhadah Dahlia Nen @ Shahinan were also among the 15 judges appointed for the aformentioned court.
Also present during the ceremony was the wife of Sarawak’s governor, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi. – TVS
