Allow me to introduce myself – I am Zhahrulniza Awang, a seasoned professional in the media industry since 2014. My journey began with Sarawakiana, a news portal operating under a Kuala Lumpur agency but firmly grounded in Sarawak. In August 2018, I embarked on a new chapter, becoming an integral part of TV Sarawak (TVS). It was here that I truly found my passion, and it has been a rewarding journey ever since.
At TVS, I’ve assumed the dual role of anchor for ‘Utama TVS’ and host for ‘Dialog TVS.’ My work extends beyond the screen as I also serve as a Lead News Output. In this capacity, I dedicate myself to every facet of my work, overseeing and coordinating the production of news content. I manage a team of journalists and reporters, ensuring the development, research, and accurate presentation of news stories.
Among my accomplishments, I have earned recognition at the Kenyalang Journalism Awards in 2020. I was the Gold Winner for Business and Economic Journalism and the Silver Winner for Sustainability Journalism awards.
Balancing my roles in the media world and motherhood has been a transformative journey. It has taught me invaluable multitasking skills and the art of effective time management. This challenge has woven unique lessons into the fabric of my life.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I find joy in simple pleasures like shopping, indulging in delicious food, and immersing myself in movies or TV shows.
My journey of learning and growth continues as I currently pursue a Bachelor of Communication at Open University Malaysia. This academic endeavor fuels my passion for effective communication and adds depth to my professional expertise.
