SUBANG JAYA, 3 Nov: School of Media and Communication of Taylor’s University’s final year ProPassion students organizes myGAP (Malaysia Good Agricultural Practice) virtual forum with Department of Agriculture (DOA), Putrajaya.
The forum, “Know the GAP” with the tagline ‘Prioritise Your Health’, is scheduled on 9th November 2021 (Tuesday), from 9:30am to 11.30am.
This forum is organized to increase knowledge on safe and healthy food, specifically pesticide-controlled products among public. Discussion in the forum aims to increase consumers’ knowledge about the long-term diseases caused by harmful pesticides used on vegetables and the necessity of consuming pesticide-controlled agricultural products.
Dr. Chong Li Choo, Senior Lecturer and Programme Director of Bachelor of Science, Culinology, Taylor’s University will focus on the consequence of consuming high pesticide fruits and vegetables, while sharing her research on the technology and innovation of safely removing harmful pesticides in crops.

Ms. Juliana Ritonga Binti Saipul Jannah, Principal Assistant Director of Crop Quality Control Division of DOA will be sharing more information on myGAP practice and the certification procedures.
Participants will also understand the more on the myGAP certification procedures and impact from one of the myGAP endorsed fruits and vegetables suppliers, Mr. Mohamad Noralam Bin Sahroni.
Deputy Chairman Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dan Perpaduan Komuniti Malaysia (PKPKM), Mr. R.M. Ravichandar, will be chairing the forum.

Malaysia Good Agricultural Practices (myGAP), as a part of a drive to improve quality, safe, and sustainable fruits, and vegetables for consumers, was initiated by the Malaysian government in 2002.
