Kuching, September 23: The owner of a cafe has been fined RM10,000 for allowing large groups of customers to gather without adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP).
Meanwhile ten patrons were fined RM1,500 each for not observing social distancing at a premises along Jalan Song following an inspection led by Sekama Police Station chief ASP Will Jihem at 8.30pm.
“Upon inspection customers present at the premises were seated too close to one another and failed to maintain social distance.
“All customers and owner of the premises aged 35-53 years old failed to comply with the SOP were issued compounds,” said Kuching District Police Headquarters chief ACP Ashmon Bajah in a statement today.
He said all individuals were fined under Rule 17 (1) and 17(2) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.
