KUCHING, Feb 21: It’s a goal of every city to provide a clean and pleasant environment, leveraging on innovation and technology to make city cleaning more efficient.
As such, Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) today received three units of Glutton Litter Picker machines from Duromac (M) Sdn. Bhd.
Sarawak Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications (Utilities) Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi said that the machines would enhance the cleaning work around public areas such as the Kuching Waterfront.
“Each machine can replace three to five workers of the conventional manual methods.
“In addition, it is also able to save the cost of cleaning operations in the long term,” he said when completing the Glutton Litter Machine Handover Ceremony Picker at Godown Amphitheater, Kuching Waterfront, here.
The Pantai Damai Assemblyman noted that the quick action features are suitable for public events, both large and small.
Adding that such facility would increase the well-being of its dwellers in providing clean and liveable environment.
“Environment which is clean, safe and conducive is also able to increase the desire of tourists to visit Kuching City and further strengthen the confidence of foreign investors to invest in the economic industry, particularly in Kuching and in Sarawak in general,” he pointed out.
Glutton Litter Picker machine is the latest innovation in urban environmental cleaning.
