KUCHING, 6 November : GPS unveiled its election manifesto, promising a five-prong approach to drive Sarawak’s development.
Themed, “Sarawak First”, the five main pillars include stable and resilient politics, socioeconomy and finances led by farsighted leaders that priorities Sarawak’s future.
A major highlight of the manifesto outlined the infrastructures and facilities development in urban and rural areas for the people’s well-being, in a bid to achieve the status of Sarawak to be a developed state by 2030 and strengthening the finance of the state in the future.
“Economic transformation and diversified revenue generation will be among the main pillars, as efforts to drive Sarawak’s development.”
While, also emphasising on the need for social justice and integrity to drive the development in Sarawak.
“Training of human capital, upholding of social justice as well as religious beliefs and efficient government administration with high integrity as a catalyst of development in Sarawak,” said the Premier of Sarawak during the launching of GPS manifesto held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) earlier tonight.
Also present during the manifesto’s launch were Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president, Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum, Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) senior vice-president Datuk Paul Igai, as well as Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) permanent chairman, Tan Sri Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar.
For the record, GPS will be contesting in all 31 parliamentary seats in the upcoming general election. GPS comprises four component parties namely Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP). – TVS
