MUKAH, 5 NOV: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for P.213 Mukah, Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib will be focusing on the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS2030) as her campaign focus.
This not only pertains to the future of Sarawak, but is highly appealing to the youth where many will be casting their votes for the first time for the upcoming 15th General Elections (GE15).
“Aside from that we want to understand the people’s concerns better.
Though traditional, we will be campaigning from door to door because it is the most effective way in understanding their problem,” said Hanifah in an interview after she was officially announced as the candidate for the P.213 seat at Menara Pehin Setia Raja.
It will be a two corner fight between Hanifah and her opponent Abdul Jalil Bujang, a candidate representing Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
Hanifah arrived at the nomination centre with thousands of GPS supporters at 8.36am accompanied by Dalat Assemblywoman Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, Tellian Assemblyman Royston Valentine and Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi.
Her nomination form was submitted her at 9.02am and was announced at about 12.05pm.
On her opponent, Hanifah wished him well and will let the people decide who will be the better candidate in championing their aspirations.
Hanifah proposer and seconder were Royston and Yakub respectively while Jalil’s proposer and seconder are Abdul Halim Dee and Zulkipli @ Terawih Abdullah respectively.
He also represented PKR in the previous general and state elections but did not come close to winning. – TVS
