KUCHING, Oct 28 : Women and young candidates are among the 14 new faces set to contest under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) ticket in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
In hinting this, its chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said that the list of candidates is more or less finalised.
“For this election, we will also introduce a young candidate who is a young woman and experienced, and also two younger candidates,” he said.
Citing New Sarawak Tribune, the Premier revealed that the confirmed list will be announced officially on Nov 3rd.
Abang Johari – who is also the Parti Pesaka Bersatu (PBB) president – said that the party will field new and young faces in each parliamentary election.
“Previous election, PBB introduced new faces at Tanjung Manis and Sibuti parliamentary seats, and they were young candidates,” he added.
