TEHRAN, June 25: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has praised the people of Iran for maintaining unity and resilience in the face of Israeli aggression, stating that Iranians should take pride in what he described as a victory over the Zionist regime.
In a message on Tuesday night, following a truce that was reportedly imposed on Israel by the Iranian armed forces after 12 days of hostilities, Pezeshkian underscored the importance of preserving the unity and cohesion achieved by the Iranian nation during the recent conflict.
He described the solidarity forged among the people as a valuable asset and a source of national strength that must be sustained, Mehr news agency reported.
The president predicted a brighter future for the country, linking it to the continuation of national unity and the collective resolve of the Iranian people.
He asserted that the damage inflicted by the Iranian armed forces on the enemy was far greater than the losses sustained by Iran.
Pezeshkian added that the adventurism of the Zionist regime came at a heavy cost, and that the confrontation had demonstrated the strength and dignity of the Iranian nation to the world.
“All the pride stemming from this victory belongs to the people, and they should be proud of it,” he said.
He further reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to regional stability and peaceful coexistence with its neighbours. He emphasised that Iran’s defence capabilities are intended to serve the security of the region, especially that of Muslim nations and neighbouring countries.
He also called for continued vigilance and wisdom among regional states to thwart any attempts by adversaries to sow division. – TVS
