KUALA LUMPUR, Apr 10: Malaysia and China have signed six MoUs to strengthen collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital infrastructure.
According to the Minister of Digital, Gobind Singh Deo, this collaboration marks a key step in enhancing both countries’ digital economies.
“These MoUs will transform e-commerce, logistics, government services and digital infrastructure in Malaysia,” he said in a statement today.
The MoUs were exchanged in a ceremony held at Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre, also witnessed by the Governor of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Lan Tianli.
Gobind said that the collaboration reflects Malaysia’s strong commitment to its digital agenda, which aims to enhance national capabilities, foster innovation, and drive economic growth.
“The exchange of knowledge and resources in digital technology and innovation is crucial for Malaysia’s growth.
“It will significantly benefit our nation’s digital agenda by enhancing our capabilities, fostering innovation and driving economic progress,” he added.
Key deals include Huawei Malaysia teaming up with Skyvast Cloud to develop sovereign AI cloud infrastructure, and with Tiong Nam Logistics to integrate AI into supply chain operations.
Other partnerships involve building an AI-powered e-commerce platform with TOGL Technology and exploring AI-driven government services with HeiTech Padu and MY E.G. Services. – TVS
