KUCHING, Feb 28: The Graduates Enhancement Training Sarawak: Work Readiness Program (GETS-WRP) has been introduced to equip fresh graduates with industry-relevant skills and practical experience, boosting their employability in Sarawakâs job market.
Aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry demands, GETS-WRP offers structured training focused on key economic sectors such as Oil & Gas, Digital Economy, Financial Services, and the Public Sector.
In a statement today, Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence Sdn Bhd (SCOPE) CEO Joseph Lim said the program includes soft skills development, industry-specific training, and hands-on learning opportunities.
âWith this initiative, we aim to prepare Sarawakâs graduates for real-world challenges, equipping them with the knowledge and experience required to thrive in todayâs competitive job market,â he added.
Participants of GETS-WRP will undergo comprehensive training in communication, teamwork, leadership, and workplace etiquette.
They will also gain industry exposure through internships with Government-Linked Companies (GLCs), statutory bodies, government agencies, and private firms.
Additionally, workshops on business development and digital entrepreneurship will provide them with knowledge for the gig economy.
To support participants throughout the 12-month program, a monthly training allowance of RM1,500 will be provided, subject to terms and conditions.
A collaborative effort between Sarawak Government Agencies, GLCs, educational institutions, and industry experts, GETS-WRP is designed to create a highly skilled and job-ready workforce.
Applications for the April 2025 intake are now open, and fresh graduates from Sarawakian universities are encouraged to apply.
