KUCHING, Jan 9: Flowers have long been cherished as symbols of prosperity, joy, and new beginnings, especially during the Chinese New Year.
Capturing this timeless charm is renowned artist Ng Paik San, whose exquisite paintings and floral creations do more than adorn homes; they bring warmth, blessings, and enduring happiness.
As the co-founder of Artavern Space, Ng infuses her work with personal love and joy, creating unique pieces that make any space feel special.
“My paintings are created with love and joy, which I believe brings lasting happiness to any space. Each piece is truly one of a kind.
“Every painting is impossible to replicate, even I cannot reproduce the same one twice,” she shared during an exclusive interview with TVS recently.
She explained that her floral designs, often delicately suspended in air or water, carry a deeper meaning.
“They represent personal freedom and the importance of women embracing spaces that reflect their individuality and dreams,” she added.
Over the past two years, Ng’s artistic journey has flourished, from leading workshops to participating in charity events, where her work has touched lives and inspired meaningful connections.
“What started as a small hobby has blossomed like a flower. This journey has proven to be the right path, and I’m thrilled that people appreciate my work and even purchase it to support charitable causes,” Ng reflected.
Ng’s vibrant creations have been showcased in exhibitions across Malaysia and Singapore, earning her recognition for her distinctive style.
Hoan Kee Huang, the owner of Hoan Gallery and also Ng’s mentor, lauded her vibrant use of colours and brushwork.
“Her use of colors and brushwork evokes a unique sense of joy and positivity. Her paintings are vibrant, full of stories, and deeply inspiring,” he said.
This Chinese New Year, Ng has unveiled a stunning series of paintings featuring rich red tones, delicate flowers, and butterflies, perfect symbols of joy, transformation, and renewal.
“Each piece exudes poetic charm and positivity, inviting viewers to embrace life’s beauty and the happiness of following their passions,” Ng said.
For those eager to experience Ng’s artistry firsthand, her work is on display at Artavern Space, located on the third floor of La Promenade Mall here. – TVS
