KUCHING, 15 Oct: Alzheimer’s disease, a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, is one of the leading causes of dementia worldwide.
It impacts memory, thinking, and behavior, eventually interfering with the ability to perform even the simplest task, usually affecting people over the age of 65.
As populations age, the number of people affected by Alzheimer’s continues to rise, making it more crucial than ever to raise awareness about this disease and its profound effects on individuals, families, and society.
Caregiving for someone with Alzheimer’s can be an emotionally and physically demanding role.
However, through “Alzheimer’s Care” by RCBC, the public can get to debunk myths and facts about Alzheimers through a free webinar on October 19, from 3pm to 4pm.
The session will feature speaker Dr. Ling Jia Nee, Geriatrician at the Sarawak General Hospital and Sarawak Heart Centre, on the topic: ‘Demystifying Alzheimer’s Disease’.
Dr. Ling will speak on ‘Alzheimer’s 101: Eye-Opening Facts About Alzheimer’s That 90% of Us Overlook’, on the misconceptions of Alzheimer’s amid the significance of early detection for management and planning.
Interested participants can sign up via the zoom link in the poster above, and get to have and exclusive Q&A session with the speaker. – TVS
