SEDCE partners MOBILUS, EMGJV in hydrogen supply for ART

KUCHING, April 26: SEDC Energy (SEDCE) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MOBILUS Sdn Bhd (MOBILUS) and EPR Mobilus Global Rail JV SDN BHD (EMGJV) for the supply of hydrogen fuel cell for the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART).

Chief Executive Officer of SEDCE, Robert Hardin said the collaboration is part of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project which aims to minimise urban traffic congestion while spurring productivity and economic growth.

“This is another proud moment for SEDCE in new and clean energy in Sarawak.

The success of KUTS will also bring significant benefits for the community and Sarawak with cleaner future. Our efforts today no matter what’s the challenge will define tomorrow and generations to come,” said Hardin.

He also reiterated that it is also part of SEDCE’s positioning in the energy transition for a sustainable future, aligning closely with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).

Meanwhile, MOBILUS Chairperson Monica Lai said the collaboration will not only benefit the Testing and Commissioning eVorts at KUTS but also pave the way for future advancements in hydrogen technology within the region.

“Together, we are proud to be at the forefront of innovation, driving positive change and shaping the future of urban transportation in Sarawak, Malaysia and beyond,” she said.

Under KUTS, MOBILUS Sdn Bhd is tasked with the design, engineering and the comprehensive testing and commissioning process of the ART system whilst SEDCE’s role is to provide the hydrogen supply for KUTS to power the ART vehicles.
