POZNAN, April 25: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg paid a visit to Solaris Bus in Poland today, accompanied by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
This trip underscores Sarawak’s ongoing commitment to spearhead sustainable public transportation solutions.
Already employing its own fleet of hydrogen and electric buses, Sarawak looks to further expand and enhance its capabilities.
Solaris, a leading producer of city and intercity buses in Europe, is renowned for its innovative approach to zero-emission vehicles, including electric and hydrogen buses and trolleybuses.
The company’s successful adoption of these technologies serves as a model for Sarawak, which is keen on understanding Solaris’ operational scale and advanced manufacturing processes to possibly replicate similar successes.
The delegation’s agenda includes discussions with Solaris executives that are aimed at exploring potential collaborations and technology transfers that could support Sarawak’s aspirations for a more eco-friendly public transport network.
From conception, to the design and manufacturing phases, all Solaris buses are produced in Poland.-TVS
