KUCHING, Mar 26: Neelofa Entira Entegang, an 11-year-old Iban girl who was reported missing near SK Engkudu, Saratok, was found safe on Tuesday afternoon.

Operation Commander, Kho Boo Jang, confirmed that the child was found by villagers in good condition at 3:24 pm in a plantation area and was then reunited with her family.

“The victim was found within a distance of 1 kilometer (km) from SK Engkudu.

“The search was conducted within a 3km radius from the last location the victim was seen (SK Engkudu) to the victim’s longhouse (Rmh Bundak, Sg. Anak).

“In the morning, the search area extended from a 1km radius to a 2km radius covering the vicinity around SK Engkudu, starting from where the missing person was last seen,” he said after the discovery of the missing child, reported by the victim’s father earlier today.

The Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) team transported the child to Saratok Hospital for further evaluation, according to Boo Jang.

Following this, the search and rescue (SAR) operation concluded at 4:00 p.m.
