KUCHING, Feb 20: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is gearing up to thrill Kuchingites on February 24th with the electrifying Chap Goh Mei Concert 2024.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng highlighted that this weekend’s celebration at the MBKS Lake Park Theatre (Floating Stage) aims to promote cultural diversity and community engagement in honor of the Chinese New Year.
“For this year, the concert’s theme is ‘A Celebration of Tradition and Unity’ of course we will start with the usual cultural performances such as lion dances and dragon dances.
“As for our performers lineup we also concentrate more on local talents,” he said in a press conference here on Tuesday.
For those unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast on TVS. Physical attendees will receive a complimentary drinking bottle, and seating arrangements will accommodate senior citizens.
”We will also bring a new specialty this edition, as we have something special, we have our state-owned TV station coming in to join us.
“In actual fact, you can actually see that this year there are a lot of music videos, including by MBKS and also TVS,” Wee remarked.
TEA FM serves as the event’s official radio partner, while TVS is the official broadcasting partner. Sponsors for the event include Kuching Love Book Association, 38 Yayasan Amal Cinta, Imperial Hotel Kuching, Tay Motors, and Skyram Enterprise.
