DEBAK, Feb 19: Rural communities are urged to prioritise open communication to foster the exchange of ideas for greater unity and progress.
Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said open communication would also create a cohesive society that will facilitate the smooth implementation of the government’s development programmes.
“We must persist with this open communication among us. It will keep us united and supportive of each other in our common quest,” he said.
Uggah emphasised that unity is all the more crucial now that the Sarawak government is implementing various initiatives focused on enhancing rural incomes through modern agricultural practices.
“The setting up of an agropark at Lubok Tamang here would be the incubator to produce modern farmers who would use technology to increase their productivity and profit,” he said this when addressing the residents of Rh. Lingan Sait in Sengalang, yesterday.
Also present at the event were Deputy Minister for Woman, Childhood Community Development and Wellbeing and Saribas Assemblyman, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam as well as Betong Member of Parliament, Dr Richard Rapu. – TVS
