Kuala Terengganu, Sep 19: Experiential learning aims to equip graduates with the readiness to navigate the challenge of the actual professional world.
This commitment is exemplified by PETRONAS through Institut Teknologi Petroleum Petronas (INSTEP), incorporates niche programmes to enhance experiential learning.
Senior General Manager of Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) Sarawak Asset, Anuar Ismail said INSTEP is dedicated to cultivating future skills to meet the demands of the global energy industry.
“In the increased competitiveness of the future of the energy industry, we need to overcome challenges by providing the right platform and the right skills.
“These initiatives can be seen through INSTEP’S collaboration with PETRONAS, proven by our world-class facilities which is the envy of the world, where students can learn from trial an error, make mistakes you cannot make on the real platform,” said Anuar in his speech during INSTEP graduation ceremony of TEP Core Upstream Learners of batch 2022 graduated with essential technical competencies, comprising of 140 Sarawakians and 27 Sabahans in their Graduation Ceremony held at their 200-acre institute located at Bukit Rakit, Terengganu on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Anuar also added that nurturing talents from Borneo through upstream learning plays a vital role in meeting the requirements of solution partners.
“The Health Safety and Environment (HSE) is a vital module, as in the real world, handling calamities as a team and the right attitude is the way to survive.
“The journey of the graduates in oil and gas today has just begun,” he added.
The TEP is a 10-month pre-employment sponsorship programme, sponsored by PETRONAS Carigali Sarawak Asset and Sabah Asset. Graduates of this programme receive certificates in Production, Instrument, Mechanical, and Electrical certificates.
Also present at the ceremony was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PETRONAS Technical Trainning Sdn Bhd INSTEP Idris Ibrahim and General Manager, Head of GRPC Hana Maslina. -TVS
