KUCHING, Aug 4: Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, shared his vision for Sarawak’s continued prosperity and the well-being of its residents, with a strong focus on maintaining a stable and robust economy.
Hence, emphasized that this vision is in line with the Sarawak government’s goal to enhance the overall quality of life for its people.
“For Sarawak to prosper, its people must live comfortably, ensuring stability and a clear focus on improving their lives.
“We need to provide essential facilities and avoid disputes, and my wish is for Sarawak to continue developing and for its people to have access to basic necessities, such as food on the table, which symbolizes a strong economy,” he expressed in response to a reporter’s question during his 73rd birthday celebration at UNIMAS today.
Abang Johari also stressed the crucial role of education in sustaining Sarawak’s high-income status.
“Education is the key; through education, we can combat poverty. Currently, we are categorized as a high-income state, and we must strive to maintain this status.
“I’m committed to ensuring that Sarawak remains a high-income state. Additionally, my second wish is to provide free tertiary education,” he added.
Meanwhile, well-wishes poured in from lecturers at UNIMAS, describing Abang Johari as a charismatic leader who has effectively elevated Sarawak to a position of great pride.
“Happy birthday to Premier Abang Jo! I wish you a life filled with blessings, prosperity, and abundance in this world and the hereafter,” said Monaliza Sarbini.
Ernisa Marzuki also extended her best wishes and expressed hope that Sarawak will continue to thrive under Abang Johari’s dynamic leadership.
“Happy 73rd birthday to our Premier, and may he continue to lead Sarawak towards progress and success,” added Ernisa.
Jamali Bujang Sanawi expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Premier Abang Johari for his transformative leadership, which has propelled Sarawak to new heights since assuming the position of Premier.
