PUTRAJAYA, July 31: A poignant atmosphere accompanied the Op Daulat Pantomime performance in Kampung Simunul during the parade ceremony in conjunction with the heroes’ day celebration at Dataran Pahlawan Negara, Putrajaya, earlier this morning.
Even more heartrending, these emotions were also felt by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’Ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Their majesties, visibly moved by the performance, came down from the main stage to meet the widows and relatives of the fallen heroes and presented their contributions.
The heroes, ACP Ibrahim Lebar, Sergeant Major Baharin Hamit, Sergeant Major Abd Azis Sarikon, Corporal Mohd Azrul Tukiran, Sergeant Salam Togiran, And Dsp Michael Padel were part of the special branch, general operations force of the Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters, and the Semporna District Police Headquarters.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, were also present.
The Op Daulat incident occurred on February 12, 2013 when over 200 sulu terrorists, identifying as the royal Sulu Force (RSF), invaded Kampung Tanduo in stages from Simunul Island, Sibutu Island, and Sipakkut Island in the Southern Philippines. – TVS
