KUCHING, 31 July: Shell Malaysia Upstream, has taken a significant step to inspire innovative entrepreneurs and address current socio-economic needs with the launch of the Shell Livewire program.
General Manager of Sarawak Gas, Choong Yen Li said the initiative is designed to support aspiring entrepreneurs and enable them to develop practical business solutions that have a positive impact on society.
“We are committed to supporting and inspiring communities to innovate and create real business solutions that cater to today’s socio-economic needs.
“Sarawak holds immense potential, and Shell will continue to encourage and support entrepreneurs in the region, fostering innovation, contributing to the economy, and sustaining livelihoods,” she said
during the launching of the Shell Livewire Program on Monday.
Yen Li added the program’s aim to stimulate the local economy through entrepreneurship, innovation, and meaningful employment.
Five winners of the program will be awarded RM10,000 from Shell and RM5,000 from TEGAS, along with one year of business guidance.
Additionally, winners will gain access to the ‘Global Livewire Ecosystem,’ connecting with entrepreneurs worldwide and competing for the prestigious ‘Shell Global Top Ten Innovators Awards.’
Originally introduced in Sabah in 2015, followed by Sarawak in 2016, the Shell Livewire Program expanded its reach in 2022 to include entrepreneurs from Peninsular Malaysia. This strategic move aims to foster the growth of innovative solutions and provide aspiring entrepreneurs from across Malaysia with the necessary support and resources to succeed. – TVS
