KUCHING, June 21: International artists set to rock the stage at Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) 2023.
Performers who have arrived at Kuching International Airport (KIA) were American and Jamaican Reggae phenomena, Big Mountain, Chatusram from India and Tanzanian band Safi Theatre.
“It’s such a pleasure to be in Sarawak and we are so blessed to be able to share our love and awareness of Reggae music.
“We hope to connect with Sarawakians through our music in this weekend’s lineup,” said Big Mountain’s frontman, Joaquin Quino when met at the KIA arrival hall here on Wednesday.

India’s Chatusram drummer, Supratik Chaterjee said as the festival is making comeback in its full flow after the pandemic.
“So this time, prepare for a week of drums, folk and all variety of songs,” said the drummer from the band of four, who last set foot in Kuching in 2008.
The festival is set to target 20,000 visitors this year.
SVCC High Commission of India in Tanzania, Dr. Shurolzaltol Roy shared that the group’s lineup at RWMF 2023 was part of a joint collaboration with India’s High Commission and the Tanzanian government.
“Rhythm is a universal language, this season, our performance will have a cultural dialogue- an interaction of Indian traditional Taala, and Tanzanian drumming,” he added..
The Rainforest World Music Festival is returning on 23rd to 25th June at the Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching, with headliners that also include Grammy-winning Gipsy Kings, whom are set to arrive in Kuching tomorrow.
