A celebration of pride and glory for St Joseph’s Private Secondary School (SJPSS)

KUCHING, June 8: A total of 27 students from St Joseph’s Private Secondary School (SJPSS) scored straight As in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2022 examination when it was announced today.

The school had 159 SPM candidates in February and March this year and their performances speaks volume.

One student scored 10A+ and 1A while another 9A+ and 1A. Meanwhile, a total of 11 other students scored with all As and 1B.

Its Acting Principal Fr Stanley Goh congratulated the graduates for their commendable performances despite enduring the challenges and disruption due to the pandemic, which affected the teaching and learning process.

“I am very proud of how our students have been able to rise above all the challenges that they faced in their years of school to do well.

“The Josephian spirit of courage and wisdom was well-demonstrated as they meet the challenges head-on while learning and growing in the process,” he said in the statement on Thursday.

Goh lauded the teachers for their dedication towards the school who played a pivotal role in the students’ performance in the school.

“As we congratulate our students, we also extend much gratitude to all teachers for all that they are.

“Teachers do so much more than teach and impart knowledge as they were a constant source of strength and encouragement for our students especially during the pandemic,” he added.

According to State Education Director Datuk Dr Azhar Ahmad, 32,810 candidates in Sarawak sat for SPM 2022, which ran from January 30 to March 15 this year while candidates affected by Covid-19 took the exam from March 16 to 22. -TVS
