LOS ANGELES, 11 Jan: ‘There will be no World War three’, promised Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
Amidst ongoing conflicts with Russia, Zelenskiy appeared at the prestigious 80th Golden Globe Awards virtually and stated that Ukraine is winning the war.
“It is now 2023, the war in Ukraine is not over yet but the tide is turning and it is already clear who will win. There are still battles and tears ahead.
“The first World War claimed millions of lives, the second World War claimed tens of millions of them. There will be no third world war,” he said during the live telecast.
The president also expressed gratitude to the people of the ‘free world’ for their support in the country’s fight for freedom and democracy.
“Ukraine will stop the Russian aggression on our land, we will make it together with the whole free world,” added Zelenskiy.
Prior to his speech, he was introduced by actor Sean Penn as a ‘very real-world example’ figure that would inspire many movies to come. – TVS
