KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has ordered for the search and rescue (SAR) at the Father’s Organic Farm to be conducted in a thorough and systematic manner.
Anwar said he had received information on the search mission from various ministries namely Local Government and Development Minister, Natural Resources Minister, Environment and Climate Change Minister as well as the Selangor Menteri Besar.
“I was also informed that the Ministers involved will go down to the location this morning.
“And advised them not to interfere with the search and rescue work,” he said in a press statement adding that he will personally he heading down to the location later tonight.
The Prime Minister called for Malaysians, to pray for a smooth search mission.
As at 1pm press time, it was reported 16 people were killed and 60 others have been rescued in the landslide which occurred early today.
K9 tracker dog unit were deployed to aid in the search operation along with the Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) from the Sentosa, Ampang, Pandan, Kota Anggerik, Kajang dan Andalas fire and rescue stations and the Special Tactical Operation and Rescue Team (STORM). – TVS
