KUCHING, Dec 13: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) is open to any suggestions to boost the nation’s tourism, arts and culture industry.
Its minister Dato Sri Tiong King Sing added that MOTAC is now focusing their time and energy to pore over policies and issues related to finding ways to improve and boost the tourism, arts, and culture industry.
“We certainly welcome anyone with opinions or interest in the tourism, arts and culture sectors to provide us with construction ideas and suggestions so we may all improve together.
“Understandably, there will be some shortcomings in various places and policies, of which we will find ways to rectify and improve,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday after a week in office.
Tiong pointed out that the ministry has also received several constructive criticisms to improve the tourism, arts and culture industry.
“In the past one week, the ministry have also received open letters, public opinion containing suggestions, feedback, and of course, criticisms related to the industry,” he added.
Meanwhile, he also said the ministry will look into the welfare and well being of talented but physically challenged (OKU) artists, as well as those who are financially challenged.
“I will ensure that MOTAC creates more opportunities for them to develop their talents in the future.
“I am fully open to working with everyone to boost the tourism, arts, and cultural industries – no one will be neglected,” he said. – TVS
