HAWAII, Dec 5: The world’s largest active volcano in Hawaii, known as the Mauna Loa has erupted on Sunday night.
According to the U.S Geological Survey (USGS), the lava is headed towards the island’s main highway, Saddle Road.

“It is difficult to predict when or if the flow will impact the highway due to the unpredictable nature of lava flows,” added the agency.
USGS further stated that the lava could reach the highway within a week.
The Mauna Loa volcano stands tall, with a height of 4,169 meters above the Pacific Ocean as part of a chain of volcanoes that forms the islands of Hawaii.
The volcano last erupted in 1984. – TVS
