KUCHING, Nov 22: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will leave it to the wisdom of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to appoint a Prime Minister.
The Office of the Premier of Sarawak today emphasised that the interest of the nation is paramount as well as the formation of a stable government that cares about the interest of the nation over self-interest.
“GPS will leave it to the wisdom of His Royal Highness in accordance with the power bestowed upon His Majesty in the Malaysian Constitution to appoint a Prime Minister who will lead a strong government to govern the nation,” it said through a press statement.
Recently, GPS Chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg suggested to form a Malaysian Government from a coalition comprised of Perikatan Nasional (PN), Barisan Nasional (BN), GPS and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
The proposal signals the inclusivity of a Malaysian society that is made up of a multitude of races and religions.
“Looking at the political volatility in Peninsular Malaysia, GPS believes that the people’s mandate must be respected.
