Edwin has a good heart and a vision, Uggah to Selangau voters

KUCHING, Nov 14: The constituents of Selangau will be the real winners of GE15 should they cast their votes for GPS candidate Edwin Banta on polling day.

“Edwin Banta is good hearted. Most importantly, he has envisioned his plans to move out Selangau from its current “lidah tanah” (less progressive) image of a constituency,” said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at a meet-the-people session at Rh. Sigan in Ulu Sungai Arip, Selangau last night.

Drumming up support for Edwin, Uggah said Edwin had promised to take care of all constituents in the seat should he win, regardless of race, religion, and political affiliation.

“He has his own business plans as well to organise impactful socio-economic activities aimed at generating income. He believes, for example, that Selangau has a future in commercial coffee production besides palm oil.”

“He deserves everyone’s full support for his vision, his political belief, his commitment to serve.”

Uggah added that above all, Edwin hails from a state coalition that is very strong, stable and successful in uniting Sarawakians.

He pointed out that Edwin has often emphasised that although he is from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), he is ultimately a Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate.

Uggah reminded the Selangau voters of their hardships for electing the wrong candidate in the 2018 election.

“You have been left alone in the past five years in the wilderness, devoid of development projects and plans and little engagement with him. Now is the most opportune time to change for the better.”

“Do not repeat the mistake of voting for the opposition again. The two opposition candidates here… they do not have any plan or programme to benefit you,” he stressed.

Uggah also reminded voters not to believe the lies and accusations churned out by one of the opposition candidates that are aimed to demonise GPS.

Uggah said all GPS candidates had been checked and screened in a thorough selection process, adding that they want to have the best possible candidate with the highest chance of winning to represent them.

Meanwhile, In his speech earlier, Edwin said he was very happy with the co-operation from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), a component party of GPS.

“The election is a very important process for everyone in Selangau. We had been left out in the lurch for five years. It is time to make amends. And as I have said many times, I am from PRS but I am a GPS candidate,” Edwin reiterated.

“My win will be a GPS victory as I fully subscribe to GPS under Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s struggle for Sarawak, and to protect its rights.” – TVS
