Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Kuching Branch Youth Chief Eric Tay Tze Kok.

Bandar Kuching just a bargaining chip for DAP, says Tay

KUCHING, Oct 28: After nearly twenty years of conceding defeat, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) believes it has a good fighting chance of regaining its former stronghold – the Bandar Kuching parliamentary seat – from Democratic Action Party (DAP).

Its Kuching Branch Youth Chief Eric Tay Tze Kok said DAP has sidelined the interests of Sarawakians while, treating Bandar Kuching as a ‘bargaining chip’ for its own political gain.

He stressed minimal efforts were portrayed in terms of funding to improve the city’s facilities and develop its economy, despite many years at the helm of DAP.

“DAP occupying Bandar Kuching is to mainly help strengthen their political masters in Malayan political landscape and treat Bandar Kuching as a ‘bargaining chip’ for their own political interest.

“And even went to the extent of colluding with extreme leaders of Pakatan Harapan, whom when in power, suppressed and oppressed things Sarawakians,” he said in a statement here today.

Tay noted that in some areas, the city are facing urban aging which is in dire need of new policies to regain vitality and to promote the development and economy such as; Kuching Old Market, Padungan, Kenyalang, Green Road and Tabuan Jaya,

Tay pointed out that the 15th Election (GE15) is the key opportunity for Sarawakians to seize the rights and interests of Sarawak from the federal government in order to improve the economy.

Therefore, urged voters to cast their ballots wisely and elect a representative that will fight for Sarawakians’ rights and interest, and not a party who clings to Malayan political struggle and manipulated and exploited Sarawak for their own benefits, like DAP.

“The people in Kuching have to be aware of the chaos in Malayan politics. Looking at the political scenario played out in Malaya, it is bringing down this country.

“I plead to the voters of Bandar Kuching to think rationally and vote for GPS who can truly fight for our people, Kuching’s development and improving Kuching’s economy and thus saving Sarawak.

“Give me a chance this election and let me prove it to you that we, in GPS, can do better,” he pointed out. – TVS
