KUCHING, Oct 22 : Financial literacy is so important however, just a handful of people are prepared as financial decision-making grows more complex.
Hence, the lack of financial understanding may underscore why many struggle with saving, investing and managing their day-to-day financial lives.
In addressing the matter, The Generations, a local youth and community organisation in collaboration with Kuching Central City Rotary Satellite Club, will be organising their Secret Session on Financial Literacy at CHEMSAIN Auditorium from 2pm to 5pm, on Saturday (today).
Themed ‘Money Moves’, one of the panelists who will be sharing his knowledge on financial literacy is Sarawak Media Group (SMG) Senior Content Acquisition and Development Executive, Ryan Lee, who will be sharing on “Wealth Management 101: Financial Investing as a Retail Investor”.
According to Ryan, who hosted his own financial literacy programme “Bujang and Broke” on Sarawak’s own television channel, TVS, life is full of opportunities out there waiting to be discovered.
“Do not fear of making mistakes because you can use it as a stepping stone to climb higher towards a better future,” he told TVS.
The session will also feature other esteemed speakers including Dato Chris Chung from TSG, Ross Stephenson from Luno, and Foo SH from Maybank.
Real estate, cryptocurrency, equity funds, scams and entrepreneurship are among the topics to be covered, to shore up their financial knowledge in charting their future endeavours.
The programme will also include a board game session, sharing session by industry leaders, speed networking session and booths for organisations.
