KUCHING, Oct 4: The remand order against a 45-year-old man who allegedly pimped out his 10-year-old daughter to pay off his debts, has been extended for a total of seven days to facilitate investigation.
The father, who is now the first suspect, was previously remanded for five days from September 28th.
Magistrate Zaiton Anuar extended the remand order until October 10th.
The second suspect, 44, who was allegedly involved in this case has been remanded from September 30th to oct 6th.
The father was arrested on sept 27 around 2.00 pm in Matang, while the second suspect was arrested on September 29th.
It is understood that a police report was lodged after the victim told her teacher of the alleged incidents.
The victim was then sent to sarawak’s general hospital for treatment..
According to sources, the victim was allegedly been sent to the perpetrator’s friend a number of times in exchange for money.
The case is being investigated under section 31(1)(b) of the Child Act 2001 for child neglect and abandonment and section 376 of the penal code for rape. -TVS
