KUCHING, May 25: An 18-year-old teenager killed 19 students and two adults at the Robb elementary school, Texas on Tuesday.
The suspect known as Salvador Ramos was killed by police officers at the scene.
Five victims who were killed were identified as Uziyah Garcia, 8, Xavier Javier Lopez, 10, Amerie Jo Garza, 10, Makenna Lee Elrod, 10, and Jose Flores, 10 Uziyah Garcia, eight years old, Jose Flores and Xavier Javier Lopez, 10-years-old.
The latest shooting was just a week after a shooter killed ten people at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.
U.S. President Joe Biden expressed to the Americans great urgency to pressure the members of the congress to pass sensible gun laws.
“As a nation, we have to ask when in God’s name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby?
When in God’s name will we do what we all know in our gut needs to be done?” said Biden.
Additionally, he called for the U.S. flags to be flown half-staff at the white house and other public buildings as a symbol of respect for the victims and the affected families.
The United States experienced 61 “active shooters” last year, the highest count in over 20 years.
For the time being, official details of the devastation remain sketchy and unsure. – TVS
