Bangladesh catering demand for Sarawak

KUCHING, OCTOBER 27: Bangladesh acknowledges the high demand of workers in various sectors in Sarawak especially in the plantation sector.

Hence, the Bangladeshis government is looking forward in catering the demands.

There is a high demand for workers in Sarawak in various sectors especially in the plantation sector.

Bangladesh has acknowledged this demand and is now looking forward in catering the demand.

India’s deputy high commissioner, Mohammad Khorshed A Khastagir, the country would begin with 3,000 workers. This would be done on a government to government basis.

Khorshed said Bangladesh is ready to comply with Malaysia’s latest criteria on accepting foreign workers who have completed their two-dose covid-19 vaccination regime.

Earlier today, Khorshed paid a courtesy call to Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas in his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia.

The commissioner also also added that both Bangladesh and Sarawak as a lot of things to share in the agricultural sector.

Meanwhile, Uggah said the palm oil sector requires more workforce whereby, the pandemic had caused a state of shortage of workers in  Sarawak particularly for harvesting.

He added the matter will be brought to the chief minister’s attention for further deliberation.

At the same time, Uggah welcomed investors in the livestock breeding and modern precision farming, in line with Sarawak’s aspiration to be a net food and food products exporter by 2030.
