Kuching, September 26: Almost half of the total covid 19 Fatalities in Malaysia comprised of those aged between 50 to 70 years old.
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health (MOH), 45 per cent or 10,878 out of 24,078 deaths are attributed to the said age group.
The data was recorded from March 17 of last year up to September 21, 2021.
There were a total of 6,391 deaths classified within the age range of 21 to 50 years old; 21 to 30 (657 cases), 31 to 40 (2,067 cases) and 41 to 50 (3,667 cases).
At the same time, 0.45 per cent (110 cases) of deaths were those aged 20 and below; nine were infants, 31 were children aged 10 and below and 70 cases for those aged 11 to 20 years old.
Deaths involving senior citizens accumulated to 2,621.
Most cases involved the 81 to 90 age group, while the 91 to 100 and the 101 and above age group recorded 361 and 22 deaths respectively.
Meanwhile, MOH also released a data showing the number of fatality involving those who have been vaccinated.
288 deaths were recorded for those who were administered with the Pfizer vaccine while Astrazeneca recorded the lowest fatality with only 75 deaths.
Sinovac recorded the highest fatality – a total of 503 deaths where 265 have completed their regime, 42 received their second dose and the remainder have only received one dosage.
