KUALA LUMPUR, September 23 – Istana Negara security officers “sprung into action” this morning after a “suspicious looking” vehicle was seen parked in front of Gate 3 of the Istana Negara.
Two video clips, which lasted almost 1 minute each, showed swift action of security personnel who successfully prevented two individuals in the vehicle from encroaching into the Palace.
The driver was seen trying to speed off, while the passenger attempted to flee the scene on foot but was stopped by security personnel guarding the Palace.
However, as it turned out, the incident was part of a simulation safety training of the Security Contingency Plan conducted by the Istana Negara security forces.
The simulation training took place from 10 to 11 this morning.
While the simulation training took place, all entrance and exits at the Istana Negara were closed and security systems were activated to simulate a real breach.
