KUCHING: A 94 year-old man from Kuching among COVID-19 casualties recorded in Sarawak today.
The deceased who had medical history ofhypertension, dysplidemia, kidney disease and chronic lung disease was tested positive on August 26 before succumbing to the virus at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
Two more fatalities involving octogenarians in Bau and Tatau. A 89 year-old man who suffered from hypertension and dyslipidemia contracted the virus and died in Bau Hospital.
While the elderly from Tatau, a 89-year-old woman who had no known history of any illnesses was Brought-In-Dead (BID) case to Bintulu Hospital
Meanwhile, in Subis, a man aged 71, passed away in Miri Hospital. A 62 year-old man who had underlying illnesses also succumbed to the virus.
All three victims were tested positive on Sept 2.
The sixth was a 20 year-old woman in Bintulu was found positive for COVID-19 on Aug 20, had diabetes and obesity, succumbed to COVID-19
The seventh and eighth death was reported in Kapit two cases were reported; a 77-year-old woman was B-I-D at the Kapit Hospital after tested positive for the virus on June 25. She had hypertension; a 52 year-old woman was tested positive for COVID-19 on Sept 5 before she died. She had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and kidney disease.
The ninth death reported in SGH was a 53 year-old man, tested positive on Aug 30 and had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and gout.
The tenth death reported in Sarikei, involving a 58 year-old woman who had hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia was found positive on Aug 30 before succumbed in Sarikei Hospital.
The state COVID-19 death toll now stands at 593.
