KUCHING: As the northern region of Sarawak is experiencing the flood, a similar situation is now being seen here in the southern region.
Several residential areas along Penrissen Road are experiencing the same fate as those in the north, caused by a steady downpour since this evening that has seen a rise in the water level.
Photos from residents of Kampung Jawa at Mile 12, Kuching-Serian Road, show parts of their village and houses submerged in nearly 1-foot-high water.
Residents of the nearby residential areas at Mile 13, Kuching-Serian Road, have also begun to prepare for the possibility of the flood reaching their areas.
