KUCHING, August 18 — A woman sustained head injuries after the ceiling of a shop at a shopping mall in Jalan Wan Alwi collapsed on her.
According to sources, in the 10am incident, the woman who is believed to be the lingerie shop assistant was said to be preparing to start work at the premises.
The victim, 34, was then rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment after she had was said to have fainted from the impact.
It is learnt, however, the woman is in a stable condition and is still receiving treatment at the hospital.
Security personnel had then cordoned off the area and passers-by including shoppers were told to leave.
Several reporters who arrived at the scene were also advised to leave by the mall’s security personnel.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said the department did not receive any report on that matter.
