KUCHING, JULY 3 – Meanwhile, over 42% of Sarawakian have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 10% of the population have completed both doses under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).
According to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, Sarawak now hits a daily vaccination rate of up to 60,000 a day from the previous 50,000 injections a day.
“As of July 2nd, a total of 1,488,859 vaccine doses have been administered to the people in the state,” he was quoted as saying during a visit to a vaccination centre (PPV) at Dewan Serbaguna Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman, Kampung Matang Batu 10 this morning.
At the same time, Abang Jo said the ‘Mobile Outreach’ team for the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Sarawak has succeeded in speeding up the vaccination process in the state.
“The initiative will also help us to achieve our target of vaccinating 80 percent of Sarawak’s population by August,” he added.
