ByFreddy Bohari

SERIAN: The upgrading works on two facilities at the Semuja Immigration Depot here have been completed.

The facilities are the officer’s mess and a quarantine centre, both costing a total of RM693,000.00.

Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is Sarawak Disaster Management Committee chairman, on Tuesday visited the centre to witness the handing over  of the facilities.

Serian divisional JKR engineer Oliver Ngabong handed over documents certifying the completion to Sarawak Immigration Director Datu Ken Leben.

Uggah later toured the quarantine cabin which can accommodate 20 persons in each of its six compartments.
