BINTULU: A total of 42 logs of various sizes and species estimated to be worth about RM16,800 have been seized by the marine police here.
It is believed that the timber were obtained and transported illegally without permission the from Sarawak Forestry Department.
The seizure was made following complaints claiming there no proper documentations obtained from the Sarawak Forestry Department.
The case will be investigated under the Sarawak Forestry Ordinance 2015.
Bintulu Commanding Officer ASP Ezuandi Bahadin said that theoperation team waited about two hours at the site but no one turned up to claim the logs.
The case has been handed over to the Bintulu forestry department office  for further action.
